Surfing Australia currently has over 80 affiliated surf schools around the Australian coastline, from the Sunshine Coast of Queensland around to the beaches of Western Australia. The Surfing Australia Surf Schools are the largest network of surf schools in Australia providing over 314,000 individual lessons in the last financial year alone (2008/09).

The Safe Surfing program forms the basis of all Surfing Australia Surf Schools lessons. Designed to take the beginner from the edge of the beach to competition surfing. The 5 certificate program is self paced and rewards participants as they progress. Lessons are delivered by Level 1 Accredited Coaches through the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme which is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission.
